The Palace of Versailles, Château de Versailles has been listed as a World Heritage site for the last 30 years. Out of the 2,300 rooms that make up this golden palace, the Hall of Mirrors was the one that took my breath away. It was initially built to replace a large terrace designed by the architect Louis Le Vau, which opened onto the most magnificent and colorful garden. King Louis XIII expanded to accommodate 600 guests, in order to throw the most incredible parties of their time.
While walking through the chateau, you can't help but feel like you have stepped into a luxury vintage time machine dating back to the 1600's. From Leto's Fountain, to the Mirror Pool, to the state of art gardens, this is an experience that simply cannot be put into words or even photographs. Château de Versailles shows a royal side of France in the most sensational light you have ever seen.
