This past Sunday 40,000 runners prepped for their 26.2 mile trek across a warm and rather unusual sunny London day. With the ultimate running weather in tact, Prince Harry and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined together to press the traditional red button which started the elite men's and mass races to kick off an eventful afternoon...
Throughout each runner's route, their adrenalin was ignited with nearly 800,000 spectators and infamous monuments of London including: Tower Hill, Tower Bridge, Big Ben and the Royal Buckingham Palace where the race came to a completion. Amit Malhotra, a key runner we all rooted for, crossed the finish line with a whopping 03:50:24 result time. Amit ran to support Whizz Kidz - a local charity constantly working to transform the lives of disabled children across the UK, supporting them to become confident and independent young adults. He so generously raised over £2000 alone to go directly to the cause.
Running a marathon is quite an accomplishment to say the least. Watching the runners put their all into something they passionately worked at months on end was so inspirational it brought me to tears. Well done 2017 London Marathon runners, every one of you absolutely smashed it. Especially you Amit! Click the link to support the gracious charity Whizz Kidz.
